Electric Ford Bronco to Benefit Wainwright Charity

St. Louis–based Gateway Bronco has teamed up with online fundraising platform Omaze to offer auto enthusiasts a unique prize — an electric classic Ford Bronco (plus $20,000 in cash) — to benefit Big League Impact, a nonprofit started by St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright. The money donated will help Big League Impact continue their mission of fighting poverty in the U.S. and in countries like Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Uganda.

“The collaboration with Gateway Bronco and Omaze provides a unique and engaging platform to raise both awareness and dollars for Big League Impact,” says Keith Brooks, executive director of Big League Impact. “We are grateful for the partnership and thrilled that our first Omaze campaign, like BLI's founder, has such great ties to St. Louis. This is a wonderful opportunity and we are so appreciative for all of the support.”

Founded by St. Louis entrepreneur Seth Burgett, Gateway Bronco transforms classic Ford Broncos into amazing modern machines. While Gateway Bronco uses the latest process and techniques, it is at heart a throwback company building vehicles the way Henry Ford envisioned. This particular first-generation Ford Bronco features a 5-speed manual engine with an electric GT motor and Tesla battery that provides a 200-mile range.

“The custom heritage Gateway e-Bronco is the ultimate Resto-Mod,” says Burgett, CEO of Gateway Bronco. “It combines the timelessness of a heritage Ford Bronco body with a modern, hi-tech electric drivetrain that boasts about twice the horsepower of the V8 SUV when it was introduced in 1966. Yet Gateway Bronco’s SUV has zero emissions. The fun factor is in full force with the rock-climbing torque and traditional 5-speed manual transmission, and it delivers guilt-free driving with its green powertrain. Plus, the Gateway heritage e-Bronco can deliver an amazing 200 miles of range, which is about the same as a Jeep Wrangler.”

True to the Bronco’s powerful nature, it cranks out more than 400 horsepower and can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 6 seconds. In light of COVID-19, the vehicle will be delivered to the winner when it is safe to do so.

“Like every vehicle we build, the Gateway e-Bronco is exciting, distinctive, luxurious and reliable,” says Burgett. “We recycled a first generation Ford Bronco chassis and then a team of experts turned it into a dream vehicle for the environmentally concerned and tech oriented enthusiast. Since each of our vehicles is handcrafted, this will be a one-of-one SUV.”

Omaze offers dream-come-true prizes and experiences to support charities around the world. like the chance to own one of two fully electric first-generation Ford Broncos in the world. Through the Omaze platform, people from more than 180 countries have made donations to support the work of over 350 charities.
