There is something about a silent film that will leave you speechless. And, that’s why St. Louisan Kate Bellows Stewart started Silents, Please! STL. This organization works to “promote and preserve Silent Cinema in the
Metro St. Louis Region”. According to Stewart herself, her personal goal for this project is to “make the experience less daunting, more inviting, and (frankly) more fun!”

Despite being filmed almost 100 years ago, silent films still resonate with audiences today. With themes of love, connection, and being seen, City Lights and Sherlock, Jr. are on our must-watch list.
