Chef Lisa Brooks on Nationwide Culinary Tour

Scrolling through Chef Lisa Brook’s Instagram, you can’t help but get hungry.

From a rich handmade pot pie to a light cucumber bisque, Chef Brooks is no stranger to flavor. Based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, Chef Brooks is cooking up something new: Lowcountry coastal cuisine. Pulling inspiration from the MidAtlantic coast – think South Carolina seafood meets Georgia home cooking – Chef Brooks is completely redefining Southern food. After founding her own personal chef service Heart & Soul 11 years ago, she is now taking her style of cooking across America, introducing people to Lowcountry coastal cuisine. The Joy of the Feast tour stops in 12 cities, reaching from San Francisco to New York City. An added bonus? Each stop will feature a local Black female chef or mixologist, adding to the spice of each event.

But it’s also about more than the food. Chef Brooks is bringing people together over her delicious meals. Not only is she redefining Southern food, but Chef Brooks is also highlighting the importance of “feasting together”. The goal of the tour is not just to introduce this style of cooking to a broader audience but to bring a group of strangers together and, by the end of the meal, have them leave as friends. After a year of uncertainty, Chef Brook’s message resonates outside of the kitchen, as well. With her evident energy and passion for food and for people, Joy of the Feast is a can’t-miss event.
