Where Community and Typewriters Collide

Located near the southeast corner of Jefferson on Cherokee Street, where antique row meets the integrated arts, TypOsphere StL is set to officially open! A breath of fresh air from our daily laptops and smartphones.

Mark your calendar for October 9 from 11am - 5pm! The new cultural arts gallery to the Cherokee Street community features a unique gallery of typewriter antiques. As part of the ongoing Second Saturday Art Gallery Crawl on Cherokee Street, artist Louise Anne Marler will have special guests and activities at her gallery, including a schedule of fun typewriter-specific and literary oriented workshops. Marler on the gallery opening: “This community embraces up-cycling, history, education, creativity, and retro-style, so is the ideal location for this concept gallery.”

Community and tradition are at the heart of Marler’s business. Three generations of  St. Louis typewriter repair and salespeople, who collected most of the machines in the gallery, can now be experienced in fun and inspiring ways while enriched with historic and educational information.

This unique new cultural art center is designed to be a place where you can restore your nostalgia for the comfort of simpler times… and take your eyes off the screen! A unique destination that encourages typing for pleasure, expression, and enlightenment, the TypOsphere StL brings together people across the Midwest region. Can’t wait to get typing? The gallery is located at 2308 Cherokee Street, St. Louis, MO 63118. Admission is free and open to the public of all ages with masks
