The Rush to Feeling Great

The Rush to Feeling Great

There's a new Colorado-based chain that's quickly creating a rush among visitors in the Central West End. Rush Bowls is the first of three locations that local franchise owners Ken and Kim Moroney will open in St. Louis over the next few years.

“We are truly excited to bring a unique concept like Rush Bowls to St. Louis,” says Kim Moroney. “The demand for a health-focused, trendy, quick-service restaurant was evident in St. Louis – we’re so pleased to have the opportunity to connect with those in the local community who, like us, are passionate about healthy and delicious food.”

Kim is a native St. Louisan who returned to her hometown from Chicago with her husband, Ken, in 2004. Kim and Ken have two daughters, and between their jobs (Ken is a software engineer and Kim is a registered nurse) and their kids’ activities, they are always in a rush. They frequently find themselves at a loss for where they can grab a quick, healthy bite to eat on the go. They heard about Rush Bowls just as the company was beginning to franchise and knew immediately that this is just what St. Louis needs: "a place for clean, healthy nutrition on the go."

The chain is known for its meals-in-a-bowl crafted from fruit and topped with granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients. Customers can choose from more than 40 signature bowls or all-natural smoothies made with fruit and vegetable bases, including acai, kale and avocado.

Bowls are also available in vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy free options, and anything can be custom made to cater to any and all dietary needs.  Rush Bowls is located at 227 N. Euclid Avenue.
