Pour Another Glass with SWADE

Pour Another Glass with SWADE

The weekend is almost here which means one thing… it’s time for a drink!

Cocktails are one way to relax and unwind, but the newest trend - one that’s here to stay - is CBD mocktails. We know every SL reader wants to be on the cutting edge of everything, including drinks! So keep scrolling….

BeLeaf Medical has a new way to consume the non-psychoactive chemical found in hemp and cannabis that’s been creeping its way onto cocktail menus everywhere. Important to note, while CBD does not contain THC, so you will not get high, it will deliver some of the non-trippy effects of cannabis … sedation and relaxation. CEO of BeLeaf Life’s Oils Mitch Meyers on this new trend in drinks: “After two drinks, you should find yourself feeling mellow and calm but not loopy and high.”

Ready for a taste? Make your own mocktail with this recipe from BeLeaf and mixologist and founder of Decoding Cocktails, Chris LeBeau:

Be Tea Leaf Sour

2 oz room temperature black tea (I like Earl Grey)

3/4 oz. lemon juice (fresh is best)

3/4 oz. simple syrup (make by combining 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. Stir and simmer briefly on the stove.)

1 egg white

15 - 25mg BeLeaf CBD oil

Shake these five ingredients in a cocktail shaker or mason jar for 5 seconds to foam up the egg. Then add 1-2 cups of ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with an orange or lemon peel.

Optional: top with a dash of bitters (like Angostura)

Cheers!!
