Metro Medspa: A Walk-In Botox Bar

Metro Medspa: A Walk-In Botox Bar

A walk-in Botox Bar.. among other things.

Although talking about Botox was considered taboo several years ago – the reality is that more people are using it (whether they talk about it or not). The thing about Botox that most people don’t realize is that it simply maintains your existing facial structure. Using Botox in moderation is not going to drastically change your appearance, it’s just going to help you look youthful and happy. And, in this crazy world, we all could use a little extra “happy.” Am I right? I’m sure you’ve seen bloggers talk about secret serums and potions that rid them of their wrinkles and give them flawless skin, but let me tell you -- those are paid ads and they almost all get Botox too.

Safe to say, we all know someone who’s had Botox and shows up to a dinner party looking like they’ve just seen a ghost. Even I have had a similar experience in the past where I couldn’t move the muscles on my face and couldn’t wait for the treatment to wear off. I have friends who prefer that look and for that I say, “hey girl, you do you.”

But, in my opinion, as with most beauty products, less is more.

I put off getting Botox treatments until I turned 30. I smile a lot -- and because of that, I was noticing wrinkles along my eyes. Year after year, those got deeper and deeper and I wasn’t happy with the way I looked in photos. I told myself I would start out with “Baby Tox” which is usually one-fourth to one-half the manufacturer's recommended dose. I’ve now been on the Tox train for three years and I’m hooked. I have been very clear with the doctors that I want to maintain the integrity of my face without the use of fillers. I’m not saying I won’t get them but I just don’t need them yet.

For years I struggled with finding a place that could take care of all the needs of my skin …Botox, facials, laser treatments, etc. I was driving all over town trying to schedule different treatments at the medspas I thought excelled in that specific thing. One day at brunch with friends, everyone was sharing the names of their fave beauty places and products. One friend said, “I get my lashes and facials at _____ but they don’t do lasers so I go to ______ for that but they over-do filler so I have someone else for that.” I don’t know about you, l but I don’t have time for all that jazz! I always said to myself, “I need a trusted place to do it all -- but in moderation.” Then I found Metro Medspa. No, this isn’t a #ad or a #sponsored post. I am a really satisfied customer for a multitude of reasons and feel the need to share my two cents.

First, they have a walk-in Botox bar. Let me repeat – a walk-in Botox bar! No appointment necessary. You just pop by, walk in their cute lobby, get your tox and go about your busy schedule or make a day of it and have lunch with a girlfriend after (which is what I did).

More than that, I felt confident in the staff when I realized the extent of their knowledge about every muscle in the face. I learned things I had never been told before and I even needed a lower dosage than I had received in the past because it was injected correctly in the right locations. Shout out to Katie, who is amazing at her job and truly does things in moderation (finally!). And to the owner Kate for being the most beautiful representative for Metro Medspa in all the best ways. Her face doesn’t display all the products and services they offer, and for that I am thankful and trust them.

What is Botox? Botox is a botulinum toxin, which in small doses, is used to make forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet disappear and even reduces a “gummy” smile. It blocks local nerve impulses to specific muscles in your face to prevent wrinkles from forming. It is recommended that Botox be used as a preventative component in your skincare routine. If you wait until the wrinkles have already set then you won’t be able to reverse that action, only prevent them from deepening. Botox “trains” your muscles to relax and lose some of their strength over time – thus slowing down their ability to cause wrinkle-producing expressions.

Botox works relatively quickly. Personally, I start seeing results after two to three days and the full “wow” moment comes around two weeks. In short, everyone gets Botox. Even men. Metro Medspa is truly great at what they do and definitely worth checking out even if just for a consultation. Plus, their office is beautiful. You will leave feeling like the absolute best version of yourself. (and maybe even a few years younger!)
