Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience

The Saint Louis Art Museum, projects + gallery by Barrett Barrera Projects, the Contemporary Art Museum, Philip Slein Gallery - St. Louis is spoiled with opportunities to experience world class visual art in person. 

Now, “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” will fill the Starry Night Pavilion at the Saint Louis Galleria from October 1 to November 21. This limited engagement features over 300 of Vincent Van Gogh’s most iconic paintings, displayed in a three dimensional world that exhilarates the senses. French-Canadian Creative Director Mathieu St-Arnaud leads this project from the world-renowned Normal Studio. Since 2009, Normal Studio has been pushing the boundaries of immersive art using multimedia magic and fusing physical and technological elements. At the core of this experience is cutting edge technology developed by some of the world’s greatest AV designers. From art to technology, this exhibition impresses all realms of creativity. 

Beyond Van Gogh breathes a new life into Van Gogh’s vast body of work, including classics such as “The Starry Night” and “Sunflowers”. Emerging from a year lost to the pandemic, it might just breathe a new life into St. Louis, as well. Other local partners include Le Meridien Hotel in Clayton which is hosting a Van Gogh themed room and dinner at Cafe La Vie for the duration of the event. Yoga Buzz will also host morning classes in the space - the link to reserve your spot will be posted to SL’s Instagram once it is live. 

Beyond Van Gogh will be adhering to all Saint Louis County Health Department Guidelines for the duration of the exhibition. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Four entry times are available each hour.
